ZLA Raises Concern Over Slow Land Reform Implementation

ZLA Executive Director – Patrick Musole

The Zambia Land Alliance (ZLA) has expressed concern over the slow implementation of policies aimed at strengthening land security, despite directives from President Hakainde Hichilema to improve land administration.

Speaking in an interview with Mafken News, ZLA Executive Director Patrick Musole called for the expedited development of guidelines and legal reforms to bridge the gap between policy pronouncements and action on the ground.

Mr. Musole noted that delays in formulating guidelines and amending key legislation, such as the Lands Act, are hindering progress in the sector.

He emphasized that strengthening land security is critical for attracting investment and driving national development.

Mr. Musole has since urged government to urgently address the implementation challenges in order to unlock the country’s land potential.

He further stated that the disconnect between policy direction and actual execution remains the biggest obstacle to progress.
