The Ministry of Commerce, Trade and Industry says it is intensifying efforts to deepen regional integration and boost trade under the African Continental Free Trade Area.
Ministry Principal Public Relations Officer Everness Nankala said Zambia has expanded visa-free arrangements with several African countries in line with the African Union Agenda 2063.
In a statement made available to Mafken News, Ms. Nankala said the move is aimed at promoting the free movement of people, which is a key driver of intra-African trade, investment and collaboration.
She noted that easing travel requirements will benefit businesspersons, tourists and professionals, while strengthening knowledge exchange and cross-border partnerships.
Ms. Nankala added that the Ministry is also implementing trade facilitation measures, including mandatory pre-clearance and the automation of border entry and exit processes, warning that non-compliance with the new requirements will attract a penalty of K4,000.
