Government Urges Mulonga Water to Improve Efficiency After Restoring Supply

The Ministry of Water Development and Sanitation has urged Mulonga Water Supply and Sanitation Company to improve efficiency and ensure timely technical responses to guarantee a reliable water supply.

Minister of Water Development and Sanitation, Collins Nzovu, made the call following the restoration of water supply to Konkola B Section in Chililabombwe after the completion of rehabilitation works at the water treatment plant.

Mr. Nzovu said the project involved the replacement of obsolete pumps and installation of modern pumping equipment and electrical infrastructure at a cost of over €1.1 million, benefiting about 6,000 residents.

He added that the works are part of the Zambia Water and Sanitation Project, which targets the rehabilitation and upgrading of water infrastructure in Chingola, Chililabombwe and Mufulira.

The Minister has since commended the utility company for restoring water supply in the area.
