Government has strongly condemned the vandalism of critical infrastructure belonging to Kafubu Water and Sanitation Company Limited (KWSC) in the Misundu area of Ndola District.
Minister of Water Development and Sanitation, Hon. Eng. Collins Nzovu, disclosed with regret an electric transformer powering three boreholes belonging to the Water utility Company was vandalized in early hours of Friday, 6th March, 2026.
Eng. Nzovu added that the vandalism of this critical infrastructure has disrupted water supply to the northern part of Ndola, resulting in erratic water supply to areas including Mitengo, Dola Hill, Twapia, Hillcrest, Kansenshi, Northrise, Nkwazi, Chifubu, and Pamodzi Townships.
He revealed that the Police has since instituted investigations into the increasing cases of vandalism targeting vital water supply infrastructure, stating further that as a temporary mitigation measure, the Water Utility Company has dispatched a water bowser to the affected areas to cushion the impact on residents while efforts to restore normal operations are underway.

Meanwhile, Kafubu, working together with the Police, has intensified patrols in areas prone to vandalism in order to safeguard critical water supply infrastructure.
Eng. Nzovu stressed that government condemns in the strongest terms all acts of vandalism against public infrastructure, further urging members of the public to desist from such detrimental acts.
The Minister further encouraged citizens to report any acts or suspicious activities related to vandalism to the nearest Police Station in order to help protect infrastructure that supports essential services. Government remains committed to ensuring that residents continue to have access to clean and safe water supply.
