Mr. Kalaluka said flooding is expected along the Chambeshi River in Kanchibiya District between February 14 and 20, 2026, as water levels continue to rise.
He added that the Lubu River in Chinsali District is expected to reach peak flood levels today, with communities in Mbao, Kalwela, and Mweye likely to be affected.
In Kasama District, Mr. Kalaluka stated that the Lukulu and Kambwititi Rivers are expected to peak on February 14, 2026, potentially impacting Kalyalya, Sausande, Mumbimfumu, Chokolokoso, and surrounding settlements.
