FRA Assures Farmers Yet to Be Paid That Funds Are in Banks

FRA Executive Director – Justin Chuunka

The Food Reserve Agency (FRA) has assured farmers who supplied maize during the 2025 crop marketing season and are yet to receive payment that all outstanding funds have already been disbursed to participating banks across the country.

In a statement, FRA Executive Director Justin Chuunka confirmed that the Agency has submitted all farmer details, including corresponding amounts due, to the respective paying banks in various districts.

Mr. Chuunka explained that in a bid to expedite the payment process, FRA has introduced additional payment methods alongside over-the-counter bank payments. These include mobile money platforms and direct bank transfers.

He advised farmers who wish to receive their payments through mobile money services to visit FRA offices in their respective areas to complete the required documentation. Mr. Chuunka further encouraged farmers to embrace digital payment platforms, noting that they facilitate quicker and more efficient disbursement of funds.

The FRA Executive Director acknowledged the importance of timely payments to farmers and expressed regret over the inconvenience and frustration caused by the delays.

He added that the Agency is continuing to work closely with banks to ensure that all remaining payments are completed as soon as possible.
