The Non-governmental Gender Organisations’ Coordinating Council (NGOCC) has strongly condemned a viral video allegedly showing two Chinese nationals assaulting a defenseless woman at ZAMFRESH in Lusaka.
NGOCC Executive Director, Anne Anamela described the footage as shocking and inhumane, saying it reflects brutality and a blatant disregard for human dignity.
Mrs. Anamela said no explanation can justify violence against a woman, stressing that Zambia is a nation anchored on the rule of law and the protection of fundamental rights.
Speaking to Mafken News, she noted that the incident is not only criminal in nature but also an affront to women’s rights and a stain on the country’s conscience.
She has since called for enhanced protection of vulnerable workers, emphasizing that workplaces must remain safe and secure environments for all.
