Mafken Radio and Television has expressed delight after being honoured by the Independent Broadcasting Authority (IBA) with two prestigious awards — Most Resilient Media House and Most Improved Station on the Copperbelt for 2025.
Speaking in an interview with Mafken News, Station Manager Comfort Nthala said the recognition is gratifying, especially in light of the numerous challenges the station faced during 2025, particularly prolonged power load shedding.
Ms. Nthala noted that despite these difficulties, the station remained resilient and continued to serve its audience with consistent and quality programming, a commitment she said has now been recognised by the regulator.
Meanwhile, Head of Programming Mwengu Silumbe commended the Mafken Radio and Television team for their dedication and hard work, describing the achievement as a result of collective effort and teamwork across all departments.
