The Ministry of Information and Media has reaffirmed government’s commitment to the equitable distribution of the Constituency Development Fund (CDF) across all constituencies, regardless of political affiliation.

Speaking during a special edition of the X-press Breakfast show on Mafken FM, Permanent Secretary Thabo Kawana said the initiative reflects the commitment of President Hakainde Hichilema and his administration to empower communities across the country.

Mr. Kawana noted that local authorities are now better equipped to deliver services, with councils acquiring equipment and receiving fuel support to ensure timely implementation of development projects.

He added that skills training programmes under the CDF are also helping to address youth unemployment.

Meanwhile, Mufulira Mayor Tanaeli Kamanga, has commended Members of Parliament and councillors for their cooperation in utilizing the fund.

He urged leaders not to politicize the CDF, despite the presence of opposition councillors and Members of Parliament.
