The Zambia Centre for Interparty Dialogue (ZCID) has expressed concern over reports of sexual favors allegedly being demanded from female politicians seeking party adoption ahead of the 2026 general elections.
ZCID Executive Director Doreen Njovu said the reported practices undermine democratic values, weaken public trust in political institutions, and perpetuate gender inequality.
Speaking in an interview with Mafken News, Ms. Njovu stressed that political party nominations must be based on integrity, fairness, and respect rather than exploitation.
She further called on political parties to strengthen accountability by putting in place clear measures to prevent and address such misconduct.
