Sakania Border Post Upgrade Nears Completion, Set for August 2026 Finish

Works to upgrade the Sakania border post in Ndola district have reached an advanced stage with the facility expected to be completed by August 2026.

Copperbelt Provincial Minister Elisha Matambo who inspected the facility yesterday morning, expressed satisfaction with the progress made so far.

Mr. Matambo commended the contractor AVIC International for operating within the projected timeframe.

He emphasized that once completed, the facility will ease the movement of goods into the neighboring Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) and bolster revenue collection through the border post.

The Minister is also expected to inspect works at the Kasumbalesa and Mokambo borders, as well as the ongoing construction of the Mufulira-Mokambo road.
