Minister of Water Development and Sanitation Collins Nzovu has assured residents of Chililabombwe, Chingola and Mufulira that water supply challenges will improve within the next four to five weeks.
The assurance follows his tour of the Mopani, Kafue and Fairview treatment plants in Mufulira District.
Eng. Nzovu has since directed Mulonga Water Supply and Sanitation Company to intensify inspections of ongoing works being undertaken by CHICCO at the Kafue Treatment Plant to ensure reliable water supply to Kansuswa and surrounding areas.
Meanwhile, Mulonga Water Director General Musandila Kulampa Hamalambo said the project, valued at 150 million euros, is expected to benefit the affected towns once completed.
The company’s Department of Infrastructure Development has also indicated that works are progressing well in Mufulira.
