Copperbelt Province Police Commanding Officer – Mwala Yuyi

The Copperbelt Province Police Commanding Officer, Mwala Yuyi, has warned traders in the province against operating their businesses late into the night, stating that the practice exposes them to criminal attacks.

Speaking to Mafken News, Mr. Yuyi urged traders to adhere to business operating hours set by local authorities to enhance their safety.

He explained that closing businesses around 18:00 hours or during the early evening would allow traders to travel safely with their daily earnings.

Mr. Yuyi further advised traders to deposit their money in banks instead of keeping large amounts of cash, noting that this would help reduce cases of robberies and attacks.

He added that police officers are available to escort individuals who feel unsafe moving alone and encouraged members of the public to seek assistance whenever necessary.

Meanwhile, commenting on the recent shooting incident in Chingola, Mr. Yuyi said investigations are currently underway.

He noted that no arrests have been made so far as police investigations into the matter are currently underway.
