Copperbelt UPND Youth Chairman, Wallen Hinyama, has cautioned citizens against the misuse of social media, particularly the creation and dissemination of AI-generated images of public figures, including President Hakainde Hichilema.
Speaking in an interview with Mafken News, Mr. Hinyama emphasized the importance of responsible social media use, saying President Hichilema has maintained a hands-off approach to the judiciary and law enforcement.
He warned that anyone found guilty of misusing social media to spread false information or defame public figures will face consequences stressing that the president has made it clear that culprits will be dealt with, regardless of their affiliation.
Mr. Hinyama’s comments come amid growing concerns over AI-generated images and videos circulating on social media, targeting public figures.
