Mufulira District Commissioner Evaristo Chilumba has cautioned civil servants in the district against engaging in partisan politics ahead of the forthcoming general elections, describing such conduct as unprofessional and contrary to public service ethics.
Speaking during a meeting with head teachers and deputy head teachers at Mufulira Mine Primary School, Mr. Chilumba warned that involvement in political activities could expose officers to consequences they may fail to manage.
He further advised that donations to schools, hospitals, and other public institutions by any donor must follow established consultative procedures, citing a recently circulated video of a donation made without his knowledge, which later sparked public debate.
