Copperbelt Province Minister Elisha Matambo has raised concern over poor mobile network services affecting communities across the province.

Mr. Matambo has called on the Zambia Information and Communications Technology Authority (ZICTA) to compel service providers to improve service delivery and ensure customers receive reliable connectivity.

The Minister made the remarks when a delegation from ZICTA, led by Director General Collins Mbulo, paid a courtesy call on his office.

He cited Mpongwe and Lufwanyama as some of the districts facing serious network challenges and urged the authority to prioritise the construction of additional communication towers in underserved areas.

In response, Eng. Mbulo disclosed that ZICTA is implementing the Universal Access Project, under which 150 communication towers are being erected countrywide to improve connectivity.

He further assured the Minister that complaints regarding poor network services have been noted and that the authority will take appropriate regulatory measures to address the situation.
