A widely circulated video showing a man in a Nurse uniform appearing in a distressed, stupor like state with witnesses alleging he was drunk has prompted an investigation by the Nursing and Midwifery Council of Zambia.
Public Relations Officer Mailesi Banda says the Council was alerted to the footage immediately and is treating the matter with utmost seriousness.
The enquiry will determine whether the individual is a registered nurse or midwife and examine the circumstances that led to the incident.
Ms. Banda stressed that such behaviour, if confirmed, falls short of the professional standards expected in the sector.
She assured the public that appropriate action will be taken once the facts are established, reaffirming the Council’s commitment to safeguarding integrity, professionalism, and public trust in nursing and midwifery.
