Dr. Alex Lwando has officially joined the race for the Mufulira Central parliamentary seat under the Patriotic Front (PF).
Speaking in an interview with Mafken News, Dr. Lwando said he is not intimidated by the large number of aspirants contesting the seat, noting that Mufulira Central has attracted significant interest.
He further said concerns about the incumbent, Golden Mwila, also being a PF member should not be viewed negatively, emphasizing that Zambia is a democratic country where every eligible citizen is free to contest for political office.
Dr. Lwando stated that his immediate priority is to engage with the people of Mufulira Central in order to understand the challenges they are facing and to work towards practical solutions.
Meanwhile, PF Youth Chairman Gift Chibale clarified that the party has not endorsed Dr. Lwando at this stage, explaining that the move is simply to unveil him as one of the aspirants ahead of the forthcoming election.
