Minister of Commerce, Trade and Industry Chipoka Mulenga has expressed the government’s regret over the delayed payments to farmers who supplied white maize to the Food Reserve Agency (FRA). Assuring the nation that such delays would not be repeated in future marketing seasons.

Speaking during a radio program in Kasama, the Minister stated that the government is restructuring its approach by preparing funds in advance.

Mr. Mulenga noted that the government plans to significantly increase the budget for maize procurement, reflecting the country’s rising production levels.
