Mwinilunga Member of Parliament Newton Samakayi has declared that the sustainability of the Constituency Development Fund depends on President Hakainde Hichilema securing a second term in 2026.
Mr. Samakayi told journalists in Lusaka that the expanded CDF allocation requires continued leadership and policy direction from President Hichilema, whom he described as instrumental in transforming the fund into a reliable driver of community development and skills empowerment.
He further argued that flagship programmes such as the Free Education Policy will only fully mature and remain on course if the President is re-elected.
The lawmaker has since urged voters to renew Mr. Hichilema’s mandate to safeguard ongoing development initiatives.
