By Morgan Chomba,

Minister of Information and Media, Cornelius Mweetwa, has called on radio institutions across the country to embrace artificial intelligence responsibly in their operations.
Speaking during the commemoration of World Radio Day held in Choma under the theme “Radio and Artificial Intelligence,” Mr. Mweetwa emphasized that while AI presents opportunities for growth and innovation in the broadcasting sector, it also carries risks if misused.
He warned that artificial intelligence can easily be exploited to spread unverified and misleading information, thereby compromising public trust.
The Minister further reaffirmed the government’s commitment to strengthening the media industry by supporting creativity among online radio stations and promoting new technological opportunities that enhance content production and delivery.
Meanwhile, some residents in Mufulira’s Central Business District have commended Mafken Radio for its programming.
