Hanky Kalanga Ward Councillor Costern Muzyamba has commended residents of Mufulira for playing a critical role in supporting his office to curb vandalism by promptly reporting suspicious activities in the area.
Mr. Muzyamba said the strong cooperation between the community and local leadership has significantly contributed to the protection of public infrastructure and ensured that development projects are not disrupted.
Speaking in an interview with Mafken News, the Mr. Muzyamba explained that community vigilance has made it easier for the council to respond swiftly to incidents of vandalism, thereby safeguarding resources meant to improve the welfare of residents.
He cited the recently constructed footbridge linking Kalukanya to Kawama West as one of the key development projects that has been successfully protected through the collective efforts of the community, describing it as a clear example of what can be achieved through unity and shared responsibility.
