Minister of Local Government and Rural Development Gift Sialubalo, has advised councils across the country to become proactive in recovering Constituency Development Fund (CDF) empowerment loans.
The minister emphasized that the CDF loans were meant to function as revolving funds, and should benefit all zambians.
He said beneficiaries were expected to repay the money for the funds to be made available to other citizens in need of financial support.
Mr. Sialubalo explained that the government introduced the CDF Empowerment Loan Facility to enable youths, women, and small-scale entrepreneurs, to access capital at minimal interest rates so that they expand their businesses and improve their livelihoods..
The Minister stressed that timely repayment was essential to ensure sustainability of the fund and continued community development.
