Economic Freedom Fighters President Kasonde Mwenda has condemned the acquittal of Livingstone Mayor Constance Mukelabai in a corruption case, calling it a travesty of justice and evidence of selective application of the law under the UPND government.
Mr. Mwenda said the court found that Mayor Mukelabai received K180,000 as a bribe in exchange for granting a full remission of property rates to Zamnuka Farm Limited, but was acquitted on technical grounds.
In a s statement to Mafken News, he contrasted this with the conviction of Patriotic Front MP Nickson Chilangwa, arguing the disparity shows political bias. Mr. Mwenda called on Zambians to demand accountability ahead of the 2026 general elections.
