Copperbelt Province Minister Elisha Matambo has disclosed that township and key economic roads in Copperbelt Province will be rehabilitated under the Public Private Partnership (PPP) model.
Mr. Matambo said the approach will enable government to accelerate road rehabilitation and improve transport infrastructure in various communities across the province.
He explained that government is engaging private sector partners to support the development and maintenance of roads that are critical to economic activities and the daily movement of people.
Speaking in an interview with Mafken News, the minister also revealed that he is expected to meet officials from the Road Development Agency (RDA) to discuss the next steps regarding road works.
He said the agency has been tasked to undertake short-term interventions on the Mokambo Road while government prepares for a more comprehensive long-term solution.
Mr. Matambo stressed that government remains committed to ensuring that roads within communities receive a facelift, adding that upgrading township roads will improve accessibility and enhance the overall development of communities in the province.
