Copperbelt Minister Hands Mulonga Water Three-Month Ultimatum To Complete Water Works

Copperbelt Minister Elisha Matambo has issued a three-month ultimatum to Mulonga Water Supply and Sanitation Company to complete ongoing water maintenance works in the region.

Speaking during a visit to Mufulira on Saturday, Mr. Matambo said government has released 60 million United States dollars for the installation of new water pipes and pump houses in Mufulira, Chingola and Chililabombwe.

The Minister stressed that the project must be completed within the stipulated timeframe, noting that the funds have already been disbursed and delays will not be tolerated.

Mr. Matambo said the works are critical to improving water supply and sanitation services on the Copperbelt and urged Mulonga Water to deliver tangible results for residents.

Efforts to obtain a comment from Mulonga Water Supply and Sanitation Company were unsuccessful by the time of broadcast.
