Chingola Mayoral Aspirant Calls for Rehabilitation of Mwaiseni, Chiwempala Roads
By Morgan Chomba,

Chingola aspiring mayoral candidate Yaki Mulimba has appealed to the local authority to rehabilitate roads in the Mwaiseni and Chiwempala areas, citing their poor condition and importance to the district’s development.
Mr. Mulimba said it has been a long time since the two roads last underwent rehabilitation, resulting in deteriorating conditions that continue to affect residents and road users.
He noted that works on Chiwempala Road were halted following a riot that occurred last year, leaving the road in a deplorable state and without proper drainage.
Speaking in an interview with Mafken News, Mr. Mulimba explained that the roads are critical to the district’s economic activities, as they enhance mobility and support trade and other livelihood activities.
He further urged the council to make use of earth-moving equipment procured through the Constituency Development Fund (CDF) to carry out routine road maintenance in the affected areas, adding that timely intervention would greatly improve road safety and service delivery.
