Chingola Mayor Johnson Kang’ombe has reaffirmed the local authority’s commitment to improving the lives of residents, stating that the council’s primary mission is to safeguard and uplift the community through its various operations.
Mr. Kang’ombe urged residents to fully support the Integrated Development Plan (IDP), emphasizing that it serves as a critical roadmap that reflects the needs and priorities of the people of Chingola.
He clarified that initiatives such as the removal of street vendors are not intended to deprive individuals of their livelihoods, but are aimed at improving the district’s overall environment, orderliness, and public safety.
The Mayor further called on civic leaders and political stakeholders across the district to adopt a more consultative approach to governance. He challenged leaders to develop a culture of actively listening to and addressing the specific needs of residents in their respective wards.
