A total of 222 pupils have benefited from the Secondary Boarding School Bursary Scheme under the 2026 Constituency Development Fund (CDF) for Mansa Central Constituency, at a total cost of K928,185.00.
Mansa Municipal Council Public Relations Officer Norman Kashi says the approved bursaries will support the learners throughout the 2026 academic year, enabling them to pursue secondary education at various boarding schools across the country.
Speaking in an interview with Mafken News, Mr. Kashi explained that the Secondary Boarding School Bursary Scheme under the CDF is one of the Government’s key social investment programmes aimed at increasing access to quality education, reducing school dropout rates, and empowering young people through knowledge and skills development.
He added that the initiative reflects government’s continued commitment to supporting vulnerable learners and expanding educational opportunities.
Meanwhile, the local authority has urged parents, guardians, and the community to continue providing both academic and moral support to the beneficiaries, emphasizing that education remains a shared responsibility in shaping responsible and productive citizens.
